Cherish your Churchyard

Saint Peter's has an ancient churchyard, that has been sacred land for many hundreds of years. Until Victorian times it was fairly open, but since has become almost like a woodland clearing, with the church at the centre, surrounded by the memorials to former parishioners. As part of the Green Gospel theme to Saint Peter's programme for 2016 we shall be celebrating the calming beauty which surrounds our church. We shall be marking the Cherishing Churchyards Week, in June, with parishes across the UK, with an Open Day in the Churchyard on Saturday, 4th June, from 10 am to 12 noon and 2 pm to 4 pm.

As time goes by and events take place more will be added to this page, but in the meantime photos of the plants and views within its walls can speak for God's garden in East Blatchington.
